台灣正在步入輕軌時代。第一階段的高雄輕軌工程即將簽約動工，預計於2014年局部通車、2015年中完成；另有淡海輕軌線案於日前通過經建會審議，第一期工程預計在2019年完成。2002年初冬，正在尋求連任的台北市長馬英九說要興建輕軌。十年過去了，輕軌呢？連個鬼影子都沒有！

為了爭釣魚台，中國國務院於9月25日以中文、英文、日文發表白皮書《釣魚台是中國的固有領土》。這份文件援引法國人Pierre Lapie (1779-1850)的地圖作為論據，非常具有紀念價值，值得達賴喇嘛好好收藏。
